We believe long-form
still matters.
Matrib is a daily editorial publication for readers who want depth over noise. We publish in-depth articles and long-form journalism across nine sections, curated and presented in a reading experience designed for focus — not for attention extraction.
The internet broke reading.
Somewhere between the rise of ad-tech and the algorithmic feed, the act of reading a piece of journalism turned into something else entirely — a fight against pop-ups, paywalls, autoplay video, and headlines engineered to spike outrage instead of inform.
We started Matrib because the writing we loved still exists — it's just buried under interruptions. So we built a publication where the article is the product. Where the typography, pacing, and layout are designed around finishing the piece, not abandoning it. Where the editorial voice is the one in your ear, not an algorithm's.
A publication is a point of view, executed with discipline. Everything else is just content.
— The Matrib EditorialFive rules we don't break.
Principles only matter when they cost something. These are ours, even when they're inconvenient.
- 01
Depth over speed
We don't race breaking-news feeds. Every story is given the time it needs — to be reported, fact-checked, edited, and given a frame that helps you understand it, not just witness it.
- 02
Editorial integrity over engagement
We don't optimize for outrage. No clickbait headlines, no rage-bait framing, no infinite-scroll dopamine loops. The metric we care about is whether you finished the piece — and what you took from it.
- 03
Reader-first interface
No autoplay video. No pop-up modals. No "sign up to keep reading." The reading view is calm, typographic, and meant to disappear so the writing can speak.
- 04
Independent reporting
Our editorial decisions are not influenced by advertisers, sponsors, or platform incentives. When we cover a topic, the angle is ours — not a press release dressed up as journalism.
- 05
Privacy by default
We collect the minimum needed to run the product. No third-party ad trackers. No behavioral profiling. Reading is a private act, and we keep it that way.
Nine sections, one editorial voice.
We cover the world thematically, not by news cycle. A story belongs in the section that frames it best — and is held to the same editorial standard regardless of subject.

Designed around the reader, line by line.
Every page on Matrib is shaped by a small set of decisions, repeated until they feel obvious. The reading column is a measured 60–70 characters. The serif is set for long-form rhythm. The hierarchy is quiet — the headline first, the meta second, the prose front and centre.
There is no chrome competing with the writing. Bookmarks, share, and navigation sit at the edges where they belong. The light and dark themes are tuned for the same legibility, not just inverted. The colour we use most is restraint.
