Delete from the mobile app
The fastest way to delete your account is from inside the app:
- Open Matrib and sign in.
- Go to Profile → Edit Profile.
- Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete account.
- Confirm in the two prompts that appear — tap Continue, then Delete forever.
As soon as you confirm, your account and its data are permanently deleted from our live systems right away — there is no grace period. Any residual copies in encrypted backups are overwritten on their normal rotation.
Request deletion by email
If you can no longer sign in (forgotten password, lost device, or you have already uninstalled the app), email team@prodlis.com from the email address registered to your account.
Include in the message:
- The email or username on the account.
- The phrase “Delete my account” so we can route it correctly.
We verify ownership before deleting. You will receive a confirmation once the deletion has been completed.
What gets deleted
When you delete your account, we permanently remove:
- Profile information — name, email, username, hashed password, profile picture.
- Reading activity — your bookmarks, reading history, and any feed personalization signals tied to your account.
- Device tokens — push-notification tokens registered to your account.
- Preferences — theme, notification, and content settings stored against your account.
Published articles you may have read are part of our content catalogue and are not personal data; they are not affected.
What we may retain (and why)
A small amount of operational data may be kept after deletion, only where law or basic security requires it:
- Server access logs — IP, user agent, timestamps. Retained up to 7 days for abuse prevention and then rotated.
- Fraud and security records — kept where we have a legal obligation or a documented security need.
None of the retained data is used to re-identify you, contact you, or rebuild your profile.
How long it takes
Account access is revoked and your data is permanently removed from our live systems immediately on confirmation — there is no grace period. Residual copies in encrypted backups are overwritten on their next rotation (within 30 days).
Once removed, the data cannot be restored, even if you contact support. If you change your mind, you will need to create a new account.
